Shark fishing has to be one of the greatest thrills that an angler can experience. The problem is that most people don’t have the money to go out and spend on specialized tackle to chase their favorite species. These fish grow to massive sizes, and if you planned to bring them in using light sized gear, you have another thing coming. You are going to need some steel leaders, along with some heavier line in order to properly drag these big boys onto the shore. You are a lot better off if you are chasing them from a boat, but even then, you are going to want to make sure that your gear is ready. Thankfully though, shark fishing charters and guides provide you with this tackle, so all you have to do is wait for the bite.

Great white shark fishing has to be the best trip I have ever taken just because of the sheer size of these animals, and their eagerness to take a large chunk of meat. They never disappoint. Fishing for sharks though is incredibly dangerous, and when you drag one of these big boys onto the shore or back of your boat, you are going to want to ensure that you are practicing safety at all times. All it takes is one slip up to feel the wrath of a great white, and you aren’t going to want that to happen. You could lose a leg or arm in an instant, so you must make sure that you keep your wits about you at all times when you are near larger sharks.

Mako shark fishing is also great fun because these fish are considered the largemouth bass of the sea, often launching themselves a few feet into the air when you hook them. The perform incredible aerial acrobatics, so if you are in the mood for a great show, you might want to consider asking your guide to put you onto some Mako sharks, or other similar species. Shark fishing charters are able to put you onto practically any type of shark that is found in the area that you are fishing in as long as you give them a heads up on what style of fishing you are wanting to do. They will have plenty of shark fishing tips for you to fill your head with, and you’ll find out that for the amount of fun that you have, shark fishing guides aren’t really all that expensive.
