I had never really heard of this before I stumbled on it one day, but I knew that I had to have one once I saw the video. The way that the Instant Fisherman is designed is like most other travel rods, but there is just something about this “Instant Fisherman Rod” that I can’t get over. I’ll talk about a few of the features in a second. When I finally received it, I was actually pretty shocked at the way it is constructed. This thing looks and feels durable, so I think I may get a few years of enjoyment from it. Continue reading →

It wasn’t really all that heavy when I opened the package, which for the way that it is constructed is really shocking. It’s pretty balanced, so the first few testing casts I performed in the back yard went well, with no real pain on my fingers or wrists. I am a boxer in my off time, so I have problems with my bones aching in my hands if the rod and reel aren’t balanced well, and from my initial tests on this one, I think it is a keeper. We’ll see in time though.

When they started building this rod, they had some really good ideas for what features to include on it. The video goes over them a bit better, but the one that I really love and got the most use out of was being able to adjust the action of the rod with the dial. Being able to move from heavy action, to medium, and then down to a light action rod means that I don’t have to take 30 rods with me to go fishing. The other part I loved about this little rod is that it can be folded up and kept in my glove box. I used to keep an Okuma travel rod kit behind my truck seat, but I know what just replaced it.

The Instant Fisherman came with a substantial warranty, 10 years, and from what I have found out about the company, there haven’t been many issues with having to return the rods and reels. With the way they constructed it though, I don’t see this as being an issue, and I actually plan to pick up a second one for the next fishing season. They are fun to just strap a lure onto, and head out to the pond for a while. Something I want to try sometime is going on a trophy hunting mission with it, trying to find some huge bull Redfish, trophy Largemouths, and even see if it will really stand up to a shark like they say it will.

All in all, I am falling in love with The Instant Fisherman Rod because of the construction, and the amount of features that they packed into it. The price wasn’t all that bad, and they usually have deals where you can get more, or free shipping, but I was being impatient when I bought mine. Hopefully this Instant Fisherman Review will help you out when it comes time to make your purchase. You’ll find that the rods and reels really are worth the money.
