There is a good reason why Canada fishing so popular among anglers, especially those that love to travel to their favorite fishing destinations. Canada offers a multitude of fishing trips, ranging from fly in lakes, full blown resorts, saltwater fishing on the coasts, as well as spectacular freshwater fishing lakes world renowned for their Sturgeon, Walleye, Salmon, and Trout. Before you start planning your Canada fishing trip, you are going to want to think about the seasons in the area that you are travelling to, as well as the types of fishing that you plan to do. Canada is incredibly beautiful with stunning backdrops, and a seemingly endless horizon. Just because Canada is so beautiful though, you really have to remember that it can be an extremely dangerous place as well, and keep this in mind before you start venturing too far from the resort or cabin you’re staying in.

Even though Canada has an amazing supply of freshwater lakes and rivers, finding the one that meets your fishing expectations is necessary, so you may want to perform a little research on the places available to rent for a certain time period. As mentioned earlier, you have to pay attention to the weather patterns around the time that you are planning your trip, because you can easily be snowed into your cabin up there, or fall into a fishing season that doesn’t provide you with your target catches. It doesn’t matter how good your charter is, if you are trying to fish during the wrong seasons, you just won’t have any luck. This is why you need to make sure of the species that you want to target in order to find a charter and a resort that can accommodate your needs.

The fishing seasons vary wildly in Canada, with fishing for different species being amazing at different periods of the year. Sturgeon fishing, one of Canada’s widest known trophy catches can be caught practically year round, with no real intervals or breaks in periods of activity, whereas salmon on the other hand have particular seasons for when you can catch them the best. Trout, Varden, and other species fall into this classification as well, so make sure that if you are trying to target one of them that you let your agent know ahead of time. This will give them the best chances of finding you the resort you are looking for.

Some of the best fishing in Canada can be found on the coasts, particularly on the west coast near Vancouver Island. If you are looking to target large salmon, then you are going to want to head over to the coast. Fraser Valley is another area where you can see spectacular salmon fishing if the time of the year and conditions are correct, so you may want to mention this one to your agent as well. For other freshwater destinations, as long as they aren’t frozen over, you can try looking into Misaw, Selwyn, or Black Lakes. Any of these destinations are going to provide you with non stop action, and are worth a mention. If you haven’t already, determine what kind of fish you want to catch, or what kind of area you want to be in, and contact your travel agent already. A Canada fishing trip may be just what you need.
