When it comes to Canada fishing, what comes to mind? Are you thinking of huge trophy Salmon, Pike, or Walleye fish? What about back country fishing lodges, that give you the most scenic environment anyone could ask for? How about getting to travel to lakes that very few people have been to, and that require a plan to get to? Canada provides some amazing fly in fishing, if you are prepared for the journey, and have the adventurer at heart. A Canadian fishing trip is one that your family is not soon to forget, as long as you know what you want, before you start scheduling.

If you are wanting a laid back trip, without too much excitement, then you can easily plan a trip at a Canadian lodge, and have all of your dreams fulfilled. From the species of fish that you are looking to catch, to the types of lakes you are wanting to fish on, there is a lodge to suit every type of angler, and a backdrop to suit every member of your family, regardless of how picky they are. Canada is a different kind of exotic though, so you must head up there with the right mindset.

Once you have finished fishing, you are going to want to figure out what you intend to do while you are there. Canada has an incredible history background, that is bound to astonish your family members, if they are able to get into the information provided. Taking a Canada fishing trip doesn't have to be all about fishing. The memories fostered while you are on vacation are not soon to be forgotten. You will hear stories from your family members about what they did, or the experiences they had, for years to come.

Before you can set out on your next fishing trip, you are going to have to take a few things into consideration. First, you must think about what exactly your priorities are, when it comes to your trip. First, what are your priorities, and what do you expect to do while you are on your trip? If you are wanting go take an Alaska fishing trip, and catch Halibut, or Salmon, then you are going to have to plan accordingly. Whereas, if you are looking to take a shark fishing trip, or deep sea trip, then you need to make those necessary changes. You can't get the best of both worlds, so you have to make up your mind, ahead of time.

Next, what mode of transportation are you going to have to use for the type of fishing that you want to do? Some fish are able to be caught from large party boats, without being spooked, or messing with the numbers that each angler pulls out, while other fish are incredibly spooky, and there will only be a few people allowed on the boat, to reduce the overall noise, and allow each angler to catch a fair number of fish.

Next, what do you intend to do with the fish that you catch on your trip? Are you going to keep them, to eat them when you get back home? If so, you are going to have to plan for storage, and travel in advance. However, if you intend to have the fish stuffed, a local taxidermist can usually take care of you, provided there is enough time left on the trip. If your fishing trip is nearing it's end when you catch your trophy, the taxidermist can actually send the final product to you by way of airplane.

If you are a seasoned fly-fishing enthusiast then you do not have to be told that Canada fishing has some of the best rivers and streams to experience in the world. A Canada fishing trip has something to offer ever angular out there. The hard part is just getting there, the rest is easy and can be very accommodating the outdoors sportsman.

One of the favorite destinations is a Canada fishing lodge, a hotel and resort just for fisherman and depending on the amenities you may only have to show up with your suitcase and shaving kit. Tackle and boat rentals are a given at most of the lodges, and of course they sell the most popular lures, and live bait that you will need for your days in this fishing Mecca.

Fishing trips in Canada have to of course be planned around the weather and depending how far north you are traveling and that window of opportunity can be very narrow. Also, depending on which territory you are traveling to will govern which fish you can catch and when. So be sure and ask detailed questions when speaking to a booking agent or the lodge owner to make sure you can maximize your stay and what you can catch.

You may want to perform some due diligence online before hastily booking a reservation at a fishing lodge. Go to Google.com and search for “Canada Fishing Lodge” and see what the offerings are available. You may be more interested in a rustic fishing lodge that is just basic shelter from the elements if you and a buddy are going. On the other hand if your family is traveling with you, especially your wife, then you may need to investigate some of the top shelf lodges that offer other activities for the kids and possibly one with a spa for your better half. Your better half will probably want more up to date or luxury accommodations.

One last item to consider are some fishing lodges are remote and Canada fly in fishing is really great for a bunch of guys wanting to just go fishing and not have anyone around except the fish, and possibly some bears. Remote fishing lodges are not frequented as much and you will have more opportunities to reel in the big ones. These of course will be a little pricier due to the fact that a bush pilot will have to chauffer you to and from civilization at the beginning and end of your stay.

In order to get the most from your fishing trips, you are going to want to make sure that you first know what type of fish you are going to want to pursue, as well as the destination that you are going to want to visit. There is a lot more to a fishing trip than just fishing, such as sight seeing, and enjoying the great outdoors in some very remote areas of the world. Make sure to take a camera with you, as the shots that you will get while you are there are going to be unforgettable, but it does help to have a photo or two to remind you.

Choosing the species that you want to target really narrows down the areas that you are going to get to go fishing. For instance, you can't really catch huge Salmon and Halibut down in the warm waters around Florida and Costa Rica, but you also don't get the amazing deep sea fishing trips and inshore guided fishing trips that you can get by going out to Alaska and hunting down the monsters they have to offer. Truth be told though, there is amazing fishing wherever you go, and finding a guide that can put you on them is actually pretty easy.

Once you have determined exactly what type of fish you want to target, the next aspect is figuring out where you want to go target them at. As stated, you can't catch cold water fish down in the tropical waters near the equator, but you can choose different destinations in the general area that your target species is found. You could travel from the northern Florida beaches all the way down to the Bahamas pulling out huge tarpon, or even just travelling the lakes in Mexico on some unforgettable bass fishing trips.

Regardless of where you choose to take your family, there is going to be a fishing trip that really does accommodate everyone's needs, from fly fishing, to spin fishing and even deep sea fishing. Fly fishing trips are another great way to learn the sport, because you are going to get to enjoy learning from someone who has been practicing fly fishing for a very long time. The Canada fishing trips that you will see often include fly fishing, and some Alaskan and Mexican fishing trips actually include fly in fishing, where you sit down on the lake with a plane to catch your fish. It doesn't get any better than this!

There is a good reason why Canada fishing so popular among anglers, especially those that love to travel to their favorite fishing destinations. Canada offers a multitude of fishing trips, ranging from fly in lakes, full blown resorts, saltwater fishing on the coasts, as well as spectacular freshwater fishing lakes world renowned for their Sturgeon, Walleye, Salmon, and Trout. Before you start planning your Canada fishing trip, you are going to want to think about the seasons in the area that you are travelling to, as well as the types of fishing that you plan to do. Canada is incredibly beautiful with stunning backdrops, and a seemingly endless horizon. Just because Canada is so beautiful though, you really have to remember that it can be an extremely dangerous place as well, and keep this in mind before you start venturing too far from the resort or cabin you're staying in.

Even though Canada has an amazing supply of freshwater lakes and rivers, finding the one that meets your fishing expectations is necessary, so you may want to perform a little research on the places available to rent for a certain time period. As mentioned earlier, you have to pay attention to the weather patterns around the time that you are planning your trip, because you can easily be snowed into your cabin up there, or fall into a fishing season that doesn't provide you with your target catches. It doesn't matter how good your charter is, if you are trying to fish during the wrong seasons, you just won't have any luck. This is why you need to make sure of the species that you want to target in order to find a charter and a resort that can accommodate your needs.

The fishing seasons vary wildly in Canada, with fishing for different species being amazing at different periods of the year. Sturgeon fishing, one of Canada's widest known trophy catches can be caught practically year round, with no real intervals or breaks in periods of activity, whereas salmon on the other hand have particular seasons for when you can catch them the best. Trout, Varden, and other species fall into this classification as well, so make sure that if you are trying to target one of them that you let your agent know ahead of time. This will give them the best chances of finding you the resort you are looking for.

Some of the best fishing in Canada can be found on the coasts, particularly on the west coast near Vancouver Island. If you are looking to target large salmon, then you are going to want to head over to the coast. Fraser Valley is another area where you can see spectacular salmon fishing if the time of the year and conditions are correct, so you may want to mention this one to your agent as well. For other freshwater destinations, as long as they aren't frozen over, you can try looking into Misaw, Selwyn, or Black Lakes. Any of these destinations are going to provide you with non stop action, and are worth a mention. If you haven't already, determine what kind of fish you want to catch, or what kind of area you want to be in, and contact your travel agent already. A Canada fishing trip may be just what you need.

Are you an angler looking to completely escape on one of your favorite fishing trips? Has work been getting to you, or things around the house getting so hectic that you need to load up the family and head off to Costa Rica or on some exotic Canada fishing trips? If life has gotten you down here lately, you can rest assured that there is a resort that is within reach, ready to provide you and your family an incredible vacation experience. These types of facilities are often located around the best fishing spots in the world, and you can bet that the land they are sitting on is prime fishing territory. After all, they wouldn't be in business if it wasn't. The type of fishing trip that most people imagine is often a very expensive, take care of me type of trip, where they feel that they couldn't possibly afford to make the endeavor. This couldn't be further from the truth.

There are now travel agents who specialize in connecting anglers with their favorite or even dream fishing destinations and for very reasonable prices. Generally, you are going to find that the cost of taking your family on bass fishing trips is around half the price of taking them on a week long cruise through the Caribbean. These types of vacations quickly add up to thousands of dollars, wherein if you take your family to an exotic destination that has excellent fishing, you are going to get to enjoy yourself, while your family either joins you on the boats, or enjoys the natural sight seeing that so many of these fishing resorts have to offer. Taking your family to Costa Rica for a week, Canada or fishing in Alaska for a week is going to be half the cost of taking them on a week long cruise, it is that cheap.

Once you get to the resort, there is going to be a lot more to do than just taking bass or sea fishing trips all day, every day that you are there. As mentioned, you are often going to be in exotic countries that your family have probably never been to before. This means that you all get to spend time together learning about the country that you are visiting, as well as enjoying each others company. Once it is time to get on the boat, they can either join you, or continue on sight seeing on their own. It doesn't matter which route they decide to take though, because resorts that specialize in catering to anglers know what you are looking for, and strive to provide.

There are plenty of places that you can dream to visit, but until you finally make the decision to call the travel agent and book your favorite fishing trips, that is all they are going to be.. dreams. The cost isn't really all that high when you compare it to other forms of recreation and vacationing, so what are you waiting for? Talk it over with your family already, and find out where they want to go on their vacation, but give them a few of your fishing trip dream locations to choose from. Win, win, right?
