| Introduction Most anglers will of caught a perch, and will already know these fish are present in most waters, be it river, gravel pit or commercial fishery. There’s always a good chance while sat on the bank that you are only a few feet away from these spiny swimmers.
Due to the perch being so common they may not appear very difficult to catch, but to locate and catch a specimen 2lb+ Perch takes a similar approach and skill as in all SPECIALIST FISHING.
The approach includes choosing and mastering the correct location, tackle, rigs and bait and once all element’s have been achieved you will fulfil your task and reap the rewards.
Before selecting your location you should firstly ensure the venue holds perch to the size you are targeting. This can be done by reading your local angling press. Other good sources of information include bailiff’s and regular fellow anglers. Although don’t always believe the story about “the one that got away”.
